SIBUR completes butyl rubber hike at Tol'yatti

Sibur’s subsidiary Tolyattikauchuk (Tol'yatti, Russia) has commissioned its third butyl rubber separation line at the Tol'yatti-based synthetic rubber manufacturing complex, expanding capacity from 48,000 m.t./year to 53,000 m.t./year. The new line forms part of an investment to upgrade the butyl rubber production facility, increasing capacity, improving the reliability of equipment, and reducing its environmental impact.

The new butyl rubber production line includes extruders, dryers, molding machines, a conveyor belt, and other equipment. The line uses Tolyattikauchuk’s solution polymerization butyl rubber production technology. The complex also produces isoprene rubber. About 70% of Tolyattikauchuk’s output is exported.
